Anjali Nanda, J.D. Joins ICHRRF Board of Directors
The ICHRRF is very pleased to welcome Anjali Nanda, an immigration attorney with a passion for refugee, asylum, and human rights law to ICHRRF Board of Directors. She has practiced for the US government in the Department of Homeland Security where she was a Refugee and Asylum Officer, adjudicating cases in Africa and the Middle East. She also adjudicated adjustment of status and naturalizations in the Denver USCIS Field Office. She has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations and has focused much of her career on pro bono work assisting asylum applicants, humanitarian parole, representing detained immigrants in bond hearings, removal defense, and criminal cases. Her experience in immigration also includes employment-based immigration representation, specializing in nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters such as PERMs, H-1B, H-2B, E, L-1, TN, P-1 and O-1 visas, and federal and appellate litigation. She has served as chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Colorado branch Access to Services Committee, and was on the board of Book Trust, a national non-profit organization providing book club membership to children in Title I elementary schools throughout the United States. She is currently an editor of two legal textbooks: The Law of Transnational Business Transactions and Litigation of International Disputes in U.S. Courts and edited/published a third book: Perspectives on International Law in an Era of Change. She currently lives in Spain where she works with refugees and migrants through various resettlement agencies and migration organizations.
She brings a depth of professional expertise in the field of international law to our organization. We hope that her volunteer services will be very valuable not only to the ICHRRF as an organization but also to the cause of human rights for years to come.
