Lorton, VA – October 14, 2025 – The International Commission for Human Rights and Religious Freedom (ICHRRF) successfully hosted its 3rd Annual Conference on October 10-11, 2025, focusing on the theme of "Atrocities on Women." The two-day event took place at the Point of View International Retreat in Lorton, VA, in collaboration with George Mason University. The conference brought together prominent scholars, human rights activists, and survivors to discuss and raise awareness about the widespread violence, persecution, and discrimination faced by women worldwide.
This year’s conference raised awareness about the various forms of atrocities faced by women across different regions and contexts, including forced sterilization, sexual violence in conflict zones, and systemic persecution under authoritarian regimes. Experts, academics, and activists shared their experiences and insights of the ongoing struggles women face in conflict zones, under oppressive governments, and within societies rife with discrimination.
The conference featured impactful presentations, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions, led by influential figures. Some of the topics included:
Boko Haram's brutality against women and girls
Ongoing atrocities against female Falun Gong practitioners in China
Ethnic cleansing of Greenlandic women by the Danish government
Persecution of women under the Taliban 2.0 regime and
The intersection of political violence and Hindu women in Bangladesh.
One of the key highlights of the conference was the Women's Round Table, which focused on the oppression of indigenous women as a tool of ethnic cleansing. The conference concluded with a session on "The Future for Human Rights & Religious Freedom”. The event was a resounding success, with many attendees leaving inspired to continue their advocacy for women's rights and to work towards ending atrocities worldwide.
In addition to the presentations, the conference provided a valuable networking platform for activists, academics, and organizations dedicated to advancing human rights for women. It fostered collaboration and resource-sharing to further global efforts in combating atrocities against women.
